Enable Analysis
Analysis is enabled separately for each project. You need permission to edit the project settings.
Activate Analysis
- Open Settings and select Projects.
- Open the three-dot menu for the project and select Settings.
- Enable Advanced settings.
- Under Analysis, turn on Enable analysis.
- Select Save.
You can also enable Analysis in the advanced settings while creating a project.
Install the project snippet
Analysis uses the project's existing Lyftio snippet. You do not need to add a separate analysis tag.
When the snippet receives a configuration with Analysis enabled, it asynchronously loads the additional analysis module and associates the collected data with the project. Install the snippet in the <head> on every page you want to analyze, following the snippet installation guide.
If Lyftio has not detected the snippet, the Analysis page displays We haven't seen the Lyftio script yet with a link to retrieve it. Automatic installation detection can take up to 30 minutes after you add the snippet.
Consent behavior
The analysis module follows the project's consent configuration:
- With no consent requirement, it loads immediately on a normal visitor page load.
- When analytics consent is required, it does not load until Lyftio receives consent.
- Before consent, the custom Analysis APIs are safe no-ops and do not retain events for later transmission.
See Consent modes for setup options and responsibilities.
Confirm that collection has started
Open Analysis from the main navigation and make sure the correct project is selected.
The page explains what is still required:
- Analytics is turned off means Analysis is not enabled for the selected project.
- We haven't seen the Lyftio script yet means the snippet has not been detected.
- Waiting for the first visitors means setup is complete but no session has arrived yet.
Once the first session is available, the dashboard cards replace the setup message. Visit the website as a normal visitor after enabling Analysis if you want to verify that collection begins.
Disabling Analysis stops the extra module from loading on subsequent page loads.
