Verify Audience

The Audience is one of the most important settings in your experiment. It determines which visitors are included in the test and where on your site the variation changes will be applied.

Getting the Audience right is crucial for two main reasons:

  • Correct placement of changes: You only want your variation changes to run on the intended page(s). If they execute on the wrong page, it can cause unexpected issues.
  • Accurate results: Only visitors who are actually exposed to your changes (or the original version) should be included in the experiment results. This ensures your data reflects real user impact.

To verify your setup, use the Preview feature. Open a Preview from the Editor and navigate through your site. Check that Audience evaluates to true (green) on the pages where changes should appear, and false (red) where they should not.
